The GREENPEG Closure Conference – the highlights

The GREENPEG Closure Conference held on 3rd and 4th September 2024 at the premises of the Norwegian Geological Survey (NGU) brought together followers from industry, surveys, research and administration in Trondheim.

The Project Consortium shared the project outcomes and exchanged opinions and visions about the exploration of CRM and valorisation of the European mineral wealth with a focus on the Nordic countries. They are potential raw material suppliers to Europe and, with great ambitious new developments, play a crucial role for the success of the CRMA. Accompanied by the General Assembly of the European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR), GREENPEG and other exploration and mining activities “Made in Europe” were set in the context of the European Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). During the past two decades, the EU has invested heavily into critical raw materials research and innovation projects, such as GREENPEG, paving the way for more commercial opportunities to make Europe more resilient and raising self-supply.

Several DINAMINE partners participated: NGI, Felmica, PNO, SINTEF Helgeland, SINTEF Nord.

The NGI delegation also attended the meeting of the European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR) and to learn from other EU initiatives, including several Horizon projects, where we had the opportunity to discuss future collaboration.
